Fremont

Welcome To Fremont!

Located in the southeastern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, Fremont is a diverse city known for its established neighborhoods, strong employment base, extensive parks, and convenient access to Silicon Valley and the greater Bay Area. As California’s fourth-largest city by population, Fremont combines residential communities with major technology employers, retail centers, and recreational amenities.

Originally formed through the incorporation of five historic communities—Centerville, Irvington, Mission San Jose, Niles, and Warm Springs—Fremont has grown into a city of distinct neighborhoods, each offering its own character, housing styles, and amenities. Mission San Jose is recognized for its historic landmarks and residential neighborhoods, while Ardenwood features newer developments and access to regional parks. Warm Springs has experienced significant residential and commercial growth alongside expanding transit options, and Niles is known for its preserved historic downtown, local businesses, and community events. Other neighborhoods, including Glenmoor, Northgate, Irvington, Centerville, and the Downtown District, provide a variety of housing options ranging from mid-century homes to newer condominiums and townhomes.

Most of Fremont is served by the Fremont Unified School District, with portions of the city located within the Newark Unified School District and the New Haven Unified School District. The city also offers a range of private schools, charter schools, and higher education opportunities nearby, making education an important consideration for many homebuyers.

Fremont offers a wide range of parks, recreational facilities, and outdoor destinations. Central Park, home to Lake Elizabeth, serves as one of the city’s largest recreational areas, while Coyote Hills Regional Park features miles of hiking and biking trails with views of the San Francisco Bay. Historic Mission San Jose, the Niles historic district, and the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge showcase Fremont’s history and natural landscapes. Throughout the year, residents also enjoy farmers markets, cultural festivals, community events, and a growing selection of restaurants and shopping destinations.

Transportation is a key feature of the city, with access to Interstate 880, Interstate 680, State Route 84, and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), providing connections to San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and other major employment centers. Fremont’s central location makes it a popular choice for commuters working throughout the Bay Area.
